Take Pink Floyd, Metallica, Radiohead, some Lead, tar and a shit load of psychedelics, throw it in a blender and you get The Mars Volta. Their original Explosive riffs and hauntingly beautiful melodies take Progressive Rock to Epic new hights. To the beginner it can seem like an overwhelming aural onslaught, but with perseverance one learns to de construct and see the brilliant musicality in each layer.

Below is a little snippet from a MONSTER 22 minute track. There'll be more Mars volta in the future when i get a reasonable internet connection.
