Seth Sentry - The Waitress Song

J.J. Cale - Who's Time

Album: The Silverstone Years
Year:   2011
Genre:  Rock, Classic Rock, Country, Swamp Rock

Swag's Comments:  JJ Cale is easily one of the most underrated artists of all time. You may know him better by his song Cocain which was made famous by Eric Clapton. This is a sexy lil tune off his new compilation, not his best work... but it suits my mood today. Enjoy!

Billy Bragg - Levi Stubbs' Tears

Track: Levi Stubbs's Tears
Artist: Billy Bragg
Album: Talking with the Taxman about poetry.
Year: 1986
Genre:  Folk Punk, Poetry.

Swag's Comments:  This chilling song tells the story of a young woman who has made some terrible choices in her life. She's married a scum bag and becomes pregnant at an early age and since he's always on the run, she lives a terribly lonely life... Having said all this she's able to turn to music, her favourite singers, The "four tops" to make her feel like everything in her life will be ok...for a moment. Please take a moment to read the lyrics to this beautiful track and take note of the unique sound made by a man his electric guitar! WOW!!!

Pharoah Sanders Quartet - Polka Dots and Moonbeams

Track: Polka Dots and Moon Beams
Artist: Pharoah Sanders Quartet
Album: Welcome to love
Year: 1990
Genre:  Jazz

Swag's Comments:  This is one of the smoothest jazz pieces i have ever heard. Sanders is a saxophonic genius. Whether you're sitting at home with a class of red, cooking a  meal or gazing into the eyes of a loved one, Let this beautiful song relieve you of your case of Mondays. It's worth having a listen to the rest of the album too... it's easily accessible via the links below.

Los Amigos Invisibles - Mentiras

Track: Mentiras
Artist: Los Amigos Inivisibles
Album: Commerical
Year: 2009
Genre:  Funk, Disco

Swag's Comments:  heard this track a few years back on Melbourne's finest Radio Station PBS 106.7. I was delighted to hear it in bars all over central and south america! The Amigos Invisibles are a Latin Grammy Award winning Venezuelan funk band! This track is the highlight of the album, with "Plastic woman" coming in a close second. The Funky bass and disco feel make it a good times classic. Hope it puts you in a good mood for your Saturday night.

Skeewiff - Tango Shmango

Track: Tango Shmango
Artist: Skeewiff!
Album: Breaks of the Unexpected
Year: 2010
Genre:  Break Beat, Funk

Swag's Comments: I LOVE THESE GUYS!! This album is fantastic! Skeewiff take an old school big band sound and funk it up a notch with clean and super slick production. This track is hardly a good example of their usual sound, but it's a beauty. i will definitely be sharing other tracks off this album in the coming months, but for now... A typical Tango melody given a Breaksy Boost. Delicioso!

Amadou and Mariam - Senegal Fast Food (Feat. Manu Chao)

Track: Senegal Fast Food (Feat. Manu Chao)
Artist: Amadou and Mariam
Album: Dimanche A Bamako
Year:   2005
Genre: Malian, World

Swag's Comments: Affectionately knows as "The Blind couple from Mali" the two singers met at Mali's institute for the blind, since then they have sky-rocketed to success  winning many international awards. In 2005 they were discovered Manu Chao, with whome they recorded this album. This track is the by far the stand out on the album. It pretty much just sounds like a Manu Chao track with an African Chorus... But a good track is a good track. Enjoy!

Clutch - Regulator

Track: Regulator
Artist: Clutch
Album: Blast Tyrant
Year: 2004
Genre: Hard Rock

Swag's Comments: It's been a LONG time since a Rock album has so drastically caught my attention, caused me to turn to my speaker and say... "Holy Shit...  This is Solid fuckin music!" Clutch deliver a Ballsy Funked out Hard Rock Collection served with a distinct Dash of "No Bullshit" and Old fashioned Americana Twist. Granted its a few years on, but for those Old School rock fans drowning in a sea of soulless indie trash, it's better to have discovered it now than never. Get it!
